The most important thing for an aspiring business analysts is to have an inquisitive mind. You have to be curious. In order to understand and solve problems you need to have a fundamental understanding of the problem and curiosity is what drives that understanding. Without that inherent trait your deliverables will always be half baked and mediocre, no matter how many courses you take.I believe that curiosity is a skill or a trait that you can develop over time by constantly questioning what you know about any given opportunity or problem, personal or work related.

As as per my experience ,I gained knowledge as junior business analyst by going through videos in YouTube related to Business analyst , and also used Udemy and LinkedIn learning to the fullest to gain more knowledge on this area.Worked along with various Senior BAs in office and gained most of the experience from them by working on BRDs and user stories independentlyKey skill to Junior Business analyst is to do more research before going to any requirements calls, analyse if these requirements are already present in other existing projects and check how these can be reused for our stakeholders

To start off, it's important to learn the basics and get some hands-on experience. Learn the basic stuff about what you're interested in, like business or coding, through online courses or local classes. Then, try to get some real-world experience by doing internships, part-time jobs, or volunteering. These practical experiences help you use what you've learned in actual situations and show that you know your stuff. Even if the projects are small, they can lead to bigger chances. As you keep learning and gaining experience, you'll get better and more confident in what you're doing.

Do networking and learn from whichever source you can. But equally important is showcase what you already know. Start with showing your work/skills on LinkedIN. It can be a recent project or recent event which you have attended or certification done by you or training completed by you. Start posting your thoughts about things you might have learnt recently. In a nut shell, do some "Self-branding" on LinkedIN

The role of a Junior Business Analyst is a great role to move into or segway into the BA role if this is a type of career you’re interested in. It’s ideal as typically (but not always) the requirement is to have only an awareness of certain skills and techniques.Such as Business Analysis (funnily enough this is a skill expectation for BAs). Also; Business Modelling, Requirements definition and management, Stakeholder relationship management, Testing, User experience analysis.

If you have solid work experience behind you where you have been using transferable skills similar to or the same as Business Analysis skills, then do you need to start at the Junior level as a BA? The answer depends on at least two important factors:1. How are your confidence levels?2. How well are you marketing yourself as a BA? If you are confident you can do a the job of a Business Analyst (with some hand holding in the start), and you are showcasing your BA skills enough in your CV, LinkedIn profile and interviews, then I would say no, you don't need to start at the Junior level. Jump straight into a BA or Senior BA role! :)

In the UK, the National Apprenticeship standard for business analysis provides an excellent opportunity to learn whilst working. Employers receive funding, and apprentices get a structured learning programme with a nationally recognised qualification at the end. This is a brilliant way for organisations to grow their own BA talent. There is no age limit on apprenticeships. If you are UK based, look for employers recruiting businesses analysts on the “find an apprenticeship” website.
