The Farmall Super MD was the diesel variation of the Farmall Super M. The four cylinder gasoline engine was replaced by a four-cylinder, 264 cubic-inch, diesel engine capable of doing 39 horsepower on the drawbar and 46 horsepower on the belt. Besides the diesel engine the tractor is almost identical to the Super M.
Farmall was a model name and later a brand name for tractors manufactured by International Harvester (IH), an American truck, tractor, and construction equipment company. The Farmall name was usually presented as McCormick-Deering Farmall and later McCormick Farmall in the evolving brand architecture of IH.

The Super A's engine was rated at 1,650 RPM, so it could claim a horsepower advantage over the A, but 16hp was all that was on tap. Production of the Super A ended in 1954.
