NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.
Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.64 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.75 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.58 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(down 2.37 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 1.35 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.62 per cent at 18841.1 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 32.66 points at 22303.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 24.52 points at 73692.48.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, ITC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Intellect Design, Somi Conveyor, Modern Threads(India)Ltd., Diamond Power and Dolphin Offshore hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sindhu Trade, Marshall Machines, GRM Overseas, BGR Energy and Bohra Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
