The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering offers two graduate programs: an MS in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering. The MS program has both a thesis option, which provides students an opportunity to conduct research leading to a written and oral defense of the topic, and a non-thesis option, which enables students to enhance areas of specialization suited to their career paths. Career paths followed by our students include biological engineering, computational engineering, engineering management, energy, environment and sustainability, and polymers. The PhD program is built upon individual research projects that lead to an original written and oral defense of the topic. Our graduates have successful careers in research and development, management, consulting, and academia.
