Ward rewarded with $10,000 on opening night of Clash at the Creek (1)

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 11, 2024) – A regular at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek since 2018, Tim Ward could recall “hanging around for a while” before falling back and out of contention in his best prior outing in the Francis Creek.

That changed Tuesday night as Ward took charge after midway of the 50-lapper for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, earning $10,000 and his career 99thvictory in the class.

“This is such a tough place to win,” Ward acknowledged, after matching career-best paydays from the 2021 Land of 10,000 Lakes Tour finale and last year’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main event.

“I was one of the favorites here last year, started 13th, got up to sixth and just ran out of time,” he said. “This time I had a really good race with Jake (McBirnie) the first half. It reminded me of Super Nationals – we raced really hard.”

The one caution flew on lap 27. Ward beat Benji LaCrosse … winner of Tuesday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature … to the stripe by 1.4 seconds.

“He always runs really good here,” Ward said of LaCrosse. “He’s a master of this place.”

Dylan Thornton, Jordan Grabouski and Joel Rust completed the top five.

Seventy-nine Modifieds vied Tuesday night. Ward had gone into the night tied with his father Rick for 70thplace on the all-time wins list for the division.

“It was pretty cool to be tied with my dad,” said Ward, who began his racing career in his native state of Arizona before relocating to Iowa. “As a kid starting in go-karts, that was something I never thought I’d do.”

Stock Car winner LaCrosse and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod winner Cory Kemkes both earned $1,000 for those efforts.

King of the Creek Stock Car checkers are good for $5,000

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers will battle for King of the Creek honors and a rich $5,000 payday at 141 Speedway July 22 and 23. Qualifying starts Wednesday night, with a $750 to win feature for IMCA Modifieds and $200 to win Mach-1 Sport Compact feature completing the program. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and students. Thursday’s show also sports last-chance qualifying for the Stocks and a $500 to win feature for the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Spectator admission is $20 for adults and $14 for seniors and students. Kids ages 10 and under get in free to the grandstand and pit passes are $30 each night. Gates open at 3 p.m. and an open practice starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21. Grandstand admission is free and pit passes are $20 that evening. Free camping, with showers, is available on site. Markwardt masters Modifieds, Stolp, Kemkes also collect 141 Speedway wins

(May 1) – Randy Markwardt Jr. used his searching skills to find his way to the front and find victory lane at 141 Speedway, as 172 cars signed in for competition Saturday at 141 Speedway. Jeff Bodendorfer set sail early in the IMCA Modified feature and went on cruise control at the top of the 1/3-mile. Markwardt started in sixth and tried multiple grooves to make his way to the front of the field. Markwardt finally caught Bodendorfer on lap 11 and pulled away over the remaining laps. Rob Charapata made his way to second but never make a charge. Bodendorfer had a great run in third after leading the first half of the race. Opportunistic LaCrosse tops IMCA Modified feature at 141

By Greg Aregoni FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (April 20, 2024) – On a cold night with hot racing, Benji LaCrosse used some misfortune of the leader to take home the checkered flag at 141 Speedway. Rob Charapata put himself up front right off the bat in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature while LaCrosse and Brandon Schmitt made their respective ways toward the front from mid-pack starting spots, with Schmitt getting to the leader first. Schmitt made quick work of Charapata and set sail with LaCrosse making his way to second.Schmitt seemed to be destined for the checkered flag even after he entered lapped traffic but made contact with another car and bent up his front suspension. He was able to maintain the lead until LaCrosse came storming past.A caution before the final flag set up a dash to the finish.Cole Czarneski used the final restart to his advantage and stay with LaCrosse for the lead.
