Weapons & Equip - Love and Stink Arrows. (2024)

Just a simple idea for a new kind of arrows.

Love Arrows
11 Damage
Grants the Lovestruck buff for 30 second

Stink Arrows
10 Damage
Grants the Stinky buff for 30 seconds

Crafting

Love Arrows
1 Love Potion
50 Arrows
@ an Anvil
Makes 50

Stink Arrows
1 Stink Potion
50 Arrows
@ an Anvil
Makes 50

ALSO: The Lovestruck buff now gives the enemy -5 damage
The Stinky bug now gives the enemy -3 defense.

NEED SOME SPRITES!!!

You do know that the love and stink potion dont do anything, right?

Yes, that is the point. These do quite some damage for pre-Hardmode but are relatively harder to get. And oh what fun it would be to shoot your enemies and have them love you or smell weird

Not really, since the potions require rather rare grind intensive stuff.

That is part of the idea. Think of them as Confetti Bullets is arrow form. In fact, they both are even lethal joke ammo due to their damage (Before killing the WoF, Hellfire arrows are the only arrows that deal more damage to a single enemy).

But they require fish to make... and thats boring to do.

I think it would be worth it, as just an additional "gag" that you can use if you want to, but not required.

Maybe add a slight something that the stink buff and the love buff would do, and I will make you some sprites.

But is safer than mining Hellstone, and, as Love and Stink potions don´t have other, practical uses, it also saves up on Hellstone that could be used to craft gear.

They only deal more damage against groups, and the stars from Holy Arrows aren´t very accurate, and they are also more difficult to obtain.

Heart Arrows are already in mobile and they stun the enemy for 1.5 seconds. Maybe they can be available in PC and also have an alt. Valentine's Event too to incorporate Stink arrows.

I don't really think that would go with the PC... Just a feeling in my gut. I think this would be good for the PC version though (mine).

Yeah, it does make killing the Skeleton Guardian a cinch. For sweet and simple +1.

holy arrows are post hardmode

Anyways, a good idea. It would be good for prehardmode, as the stinkfish and the other fish aren't even that rare.

I don't support this in its current form, though I believe it has potential. However, as others have said, the potions (due to their ingredients) are rare, and the buffs are purely cosmetic by design. If you would like these to be viably made into arrows, I suggest that either the potions become easier to get or the recipe includes a large amount more arrows and gives that many in return.
Tl;dr:

• Keep the debuffs cosmetic
• Make the potions easier to get or produce more arrows

I like the idea, but they should be mostly joke items. Making them produce so few arrows just makes it a waste to craft them at all.
